Functional Description:

Use the INSERT key to toggle the character typing mode from INSERT to OVERYLAY. the INSERTion mode will allow characters to the the right of the cursor to be preserved and shifted to the right. OVERLAY mode will overtype characters in the current cursor position.

The current mode will be indicated in the STATUS area at the bottom of the display.
